Quantum Technologies Competition | Teknofest

About the Competition

Quantum Technologies Competition is organized within the scope of TEKNOFEST Technology competitions.

The Quantum Technologies Competition, organised as part of TEKNOFEST, aims to guide young scientist candidates towards quantum technologies and encourage them to gain knowledge and skills in this field. The competition contributes to the development of participants' strategic thinking and collaboration skills, as well as their technical skills. It also supports the spread of quantum awareness in society, brings together young people interested in this field to share their experiences, and supports the creation of a sustainable quantum ecosystem in Türkiye.

The competition will be held in two categories:

  • Software Category
  • Hardware Category

Teams in the competition consist of a minimum of 2 (two) and a maximum of 5 (five) members. Teams may optionally add 1 person as an advisor to support their team members.

Software Category
This is a hackathon competition organised as part of TEKNOFEST, aimed at encouraging participants to solve security-focused challenges such as recognising noisy and low-quality face images using quantum neural networks (QNN), and promoting quantum computing skills.

University students (including associate degree, bachelor's degree, master's degree, doctoral degree, and open education) and graduates studying in Turkey and abroad can participate in the competition. All candidates (except for the team advisor) must be under the age of 30 (thirty) as of the competition's final application date.

Software Category consists of three stages: Preliminary Evaluation Stage, Electronic Exam Stage, and Final Stage (Hackathon).

Hardware Category
This is an applied and experimental technology competition that aims to develop a system capable of high-precision measurements at low temperatures for Johnson noise thermometers and to design solutions for quantum metrology applications by generating reference signals with the quantum JAWS chip.

Undergraduate and graduate students studying in Turkey and abroad are eligible to participate.

Hardware Category consists of a Preliminary Stage and a Final Stage.

TEKNOFEST STARTUP PROGRAM

The TEKNOFEST Startup Program, organized under the leadership of the T3 Startup Center, is designed for TEKNOFEST finalists at the university level and beyond. The program offers participants 11 different opportunities, including entrepreneurship training and investor meetings.

Official Recognition
Certificates are issued by the Ministry of Industry and Technology and hold official validity.

Thanks to the digital badge infrastructure, certificates can be easily verified by third parties.

Guıdance And Support Programs For Internatıonal Competıtıons
As part of the National Technology Teams Support Program, led by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation, teams will receive guidance on international competitions, as well as material support and transportation/accommodation assistance.
