The Excitement of the First Day at TEKNOFEST Istanbul!

On September 17, 2025, TEKNOFEST Istanbul opened its doors at Istanbul Atatürk Airport, bringing together technology and science enthusiasts for the first day of the festival, which concluded with great excitement and high attendance. This year, the festival area doubled in size compared to the previous TEKNOFEST Istanbul, offering 1,000,000 m² of open space and 80,000 m² of indoor space, providing visitors with a broader and more immersive experience.

Visitors experienced interactive exhibits, technology showcases, and special demonstrations throughout the day. At the “Conquest 1453 Digital Experience Area,” Istanbul’s historic conquest was brought to life through digital and interactive presentations. The TEİ BREMZE area allowed the public to witness Turkey’s first national aircraft engine in operation. At the Agricultural Technology Cluster area, attendees observed advanced practices in high-efficiency livestock, genetics, and embryo transfer, gaining hands-on insight into cutting-edge agricultural technologies.

A highlight of the day was the aviation demonstrations and showcases of domestic defense technologies. Performances by SOLOTÜRK and the Turkish Stars were complemented by demonstrations of local aircraft such as Bayraktar Akıncı and Bayraktar TB3. Visitors had the chance to see modern aviation and defense technology up close, while social media posts shared by attendees amplified the festival’s excitement nationwide.

TEKNOFEST Chairman Selçuk Bayraktar addressed the audience during the opening, emphasizing that TEKNOFEST is not just a festival, but a platform that engages young people in innovation and showcases domestic and national technologies. He highlighted the festival’s role in fostering creativity and entrepreneurial skills among youth, noting that projects excelling in competitions will inspire future technological solutions.

This year, the festival also introduced new competitions and innovative categories, including the 3T Oncology Challenge, TEKNOFEST Vocational Skills Competition, AI Film Competition, 5G Positioning Challenge, Secure Satellite Communication Competition, and Underwater Rocket Competition. The Champions Parade allowed over 100 technological projects developed by winning teams to meet and inspire festival visitors.

TEKNOFEST Istanbul will continue welcoming visitors daily from 09:00 to 19:00 until September 21. Participants can follow events via the official website and mobile application, and make reservations for special areas and experiences. The high attendance and widespread social media engagement from the first day highlight TEKNOFEST’s impact on youth and technology enthusiasts across the country.
