A New Era in Autonomous Systems: Air and Ground Vehicles Now Think Together

The Advanced Autonomous Systems Design and Operation Competition, organized for the first time this year within the scope of TEKNOFEST, is preparing to bring together innovative projects that focus on the coordinated and collaborative operation of autonomous systems. Conducted under the leadership of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), the competition aims to support the development of technologies that will shape the operational capabilities of the future.

Intelligent Collaboration Between Air and Ground Vehicles

At the core of the competition are scenarios in which unmanned aerial vehicles conducting aerial reconnaissance operate simultaneously and in integration with unmanned ground vehicles performing tasks in the field. Participants are expected to develop systems in which environmental data collected by the unmanned aerial vehicle is analyzed and transmitted to the ground vehicle, after which the ground vehicle autonomously makes critical decisions such as route planning, task management, and target navigation based on this information.

A Holistic Approach to Autonomous Systems

The competition process focuses not on a single technology but on four fundamental stages that complement one another. This structure, in which sensing, data sharing, decision making, and task execution processes are addressed as an integrated whole, requires participants to develop end to end, integrated, and intelligent systems. This approach enables the development of solutions that are more closely aligned with real world application scenarios of autonomous systems.

Priority on Solutions Suitable for Real World Conditions

Projects to be developed within the scope of the competition are expected to demonstrate not only theoretical success but also strong applicability in real field conditions. Systems that can adapt to challenging environmental conditions, establish reliable data communication, and respond rapidly to dynamic mission changes will stand out during the evaluation process. In this respect, the competition provides an important platform for enhancing the operational capabilities of autonomous systems.

Opportunity for International Participation for Young Talents

Associate degree, undergraduate, and graduate students studying in Türkiye and abroad can apply to the competition as teams. The organization encourages interdisciplinary collaboration by bringing together young individuals studying in engineering and technology fields and contributes to the development of innovative ideas.

Competition Supported by High Value Awards

Teams that rank in the competition will receive significant prizes. The first place team will be awarded 750,000 TRY, the second place team 600,000 TRY, and the third place team 500,000 TRY. These incentives serve as a strong motivation for participants to continue developing their projects.

Deadline for Applications Is Approaching

Applications will remain open until April 1. All student teams who aim to make a difference in the field of autonomous systems and play a role in shaping future technologies are invited to participate in this important organization. The competition, organized within the scope of TEKNOFEST, contributes to Türkiye’s national technology vision while enabling young engineers to gain competencies that will allow them to compete on a global scale. Projects developed in the field of advanced autonomous systems have the potential to form the foundation of future defense, security, and civilian technologies.
