The new competition of the festival, which will be held in Istanbul between September 17-21, is the “Professional Talent Competition”

This year, a new competition has been added to the TEKNOFEST technology competitions, which will be organized for the 12th time as the world’s largest Aerospace and Technology Festival.

Organized under the leadership of the Türkiye Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation) and the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye, the new competition titled “Vocational Skills Competition” will be held in five different categories during the festival, which will take place at Atatürk Airport in Istanbul from September 17 to 21.

Participants will showcase their technical knowledge, practical skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities in tasks based on real-life industrial scenarios in areas such as electricity, energy, automation, manufacturing, and electronics.

Today, the lack of qualified intermediate staff in the fields of industry, technology, and production has become a serious issue both in Türkiye and around the world. This gap causes imbalances in the labor market and has negative effects on productivity and efficiency. The competition held within the scope of TEKNOFEST aims to encourage young people to gain vocational and technical skills. At the same time, by drawing attention to the critical role of intermediate staff in production processes, it aims to raise awareness in society on this issue.

The competition, which aims to build strong bridges between education, production, and industry, is open to participation by vocational and technical high school students, university-level participants, graduates, and experienced professionals in the field.

Maintenance and Panel Assembly Category
Within the scope of the Vocational Skills Competition, the Maintenance and Panel Assembly Category, organized under the coordination of the Gaziantep Organized Industrial Zone, aims to develop technical knowledge and skills in the control and operation of asynchronous motors, one of the cornerstones of the industrial sector. Participants will compete in critical topics such as motor connections, recognition of control elements, and energy efficiency, while also demonstrating their competencies in the field. The competition will be held at two different levels: high school and open level. Vocational high school students (including open high school) and high school graduates who have not graduated more than 3 years ago can participate at the high school level. At the open level, individuals over the age of 18 with at least 1 year of field experience in the relevant area or who have developed themselves through personal efforts can apply. In this category, the prize amounts will be as follows: at the high school level, the first-place team will receive 100,000 TL, the second 80,000 TL, and the third 60,000 TL; at the open level, the first-place team will receive 120,000 TL, the second 100,000 TL, and the third 90,000 TL.

Electrical Installation and Panel Mounting Category
Within the scope of the Vocational Skills Competition, the Electrical Installation and Panel Mounting Category, organized under the coordination of the Manisa Organized Industrial Zone, provides an opportunity for young people who are receiving training or have developed themselves in this field to demonstrate their technical knowledge and skills. The main objective of the competition is to train competent individuals in topics such as panel assembly, electrical installation setup, and smart energy systems, thereby addressing the need for qualified labor. The prize amounts will be the same as in the previous category.

Industrial Automation and Programmable Systems Category
Within the scope of the Vocational Skills Competition, the Industrial Automation and Programmable Systems Category, organized under the coordination of the Adana Organized Industrial Zone, aims to provide university students with technical knowledge and practical skills in the field of sensor technologies and PLC programming. Participants will correctly connect different types of sensors, create PLC programs, and design and operate systems based on given scenarios. This category is open to university-level participants. The first-place team will receive 120,000 TL, the second 100,000 TL, and the third 90,000 TL.

Solar Energy Systems Panel Installation Category
Within the scope of the Vocational Skills Competition, the Solar Energy Systems Panel Installation Category, organized under the coordination of the Ostim Organized Industrial Zone, aims to equip young people with technical competence in the field of renewable energy and increase their interest in sustainable energy. With the growing importance of the solar energy sector, this competition serves as an important step in promoting environmental awareness and the transition to clean energy. The competition is held at the high school level and is open to vocational high school students (including open high school) and high school graduates who have not graduated more than 3 years ago. The awards for this category are as follows: 100,000 TL for first place, 80,000 TL for second place, and 60,000 TL for third place.
