Applications for the TEKNOFEST Rocket Competition, which prepares the leading young people of the future for Türkiye's aviation and defense industry, have started. The TEKNOFEST Rocket Competition, which is organized under the leadership of ROKETSAN and is among the world's leading rocket competitions, offers a unique experience opportunity to ambitious young people in the fields of science, technology, science, mathematics and engineering. Using their knowledge in different fields, young people succeed in rocket design, production and integration by thinking interdisciplinary and planning complex operations and processes. It also encourages teams to engage in a friendly competition where they can examine different design examples and benefit from the experiences of other teams that have successfully flown.

The rocket competition is organized in 7 categories this year. The High School Category is held at an altitude of 4000 feet and only high school students can participate. The Medium Altitude Category, in which high school, associate, undergraduate and graduate students and graduates can participate, is held at a minimum altitude of 8000 feet. The Challenging Mission and High Altitude Category, which is held at a minimum altitude of 15000 feet, is open to associate, undergraduate and graduate students and graduates. Associate, undergraduate and graduate students and graduates can also participate in the Control Section Development, Hybrid Fuel Rocket Engine Development and Liquid Fuel Rocket Engine Development categories.
 

The "Rocket Competition" organized within the scope of TEKNOFEST Aerospace and Technology Festival, to which thousands of teams have applied in the past years, provides material support as well as cash prizes to the competitors who pass the preliminary elimination stage. Opening the doors to a bright future, TEKNOFEST always stands by and supports young people in their career planning. In 2019 and 2020, Konya Bilim Teknoloji Team members who participated in the TEKNOFEST Rocket Competition developed a model rocket kit that can fly to low altitudes and is used for educational purposes. The "Model Aerospace" initiative, which is also one of the graduates of the TEKNOFEST Startup Program, has achieved a turnover of 3.6 million TL, mainly from DeltaV, Turkish Aerospace Industry, Tübitak, Science Centers, Municipalities and Universities. The team, which is a rocket competition finalist and a graduate of the TEKNOFEST Venture Program, is an example of a good success story.
 

In the competition, where transportation and accommodation support is provided to the finalist teams, a total of 370 thousand TL in the High School Category, 390 thousand TL in the Medium Altitude Category, 420 thousand TL in the High Altitude Category and 600 thousand TL in the Challenging Mission Category.

A total of 450 thousand TL will be awarded in the Control Section Development Category, 750 thousand TL in the Hybrid Fuel Rocket Engine Development Category and 1 million 50 thousand TL in the Liquid Fuel Rocket Engine Development Category. Applications for the competition, the final stage of which will be held in Aksaray Salt Lake, can be made until February 20. The winners will receive their awards at TEKNOFEST, which will be held in Adana this year.
